Our dedicated GIS data analysis department has vast experience in the handling of raw data. Sent from our GIS collection team, the data is entered into our database where it is checked for errors, format and general continuity. Areas highlighted for editing are done before we proceed with ‘publishing’ the data for analysis and manipulation.
The published database is then used as the foundation for manipulation as per the client’s specification. Typically, these are created as a graphical representation on AutoCad 3D Map, overlaying the GIS data positions over a map base tile. The client is then given the CAD drawing in .dwg format as well as the related GIS data.
Dependent on the client’s requirements, we can then combine other data sources in order to accurately model extended behaviour, and report on implications. A prime example of this could be the need to model the spread of an airborne radio active contaminant. Combining the GIS data for measured contaminant levels at specific geographic co-ordinates with wind speed data across the geographic region, this would result in a new set of data showing predicted contaminant levels right across the whole region.
