Our DDC team are able to carry out GPS Surveys encompassing the services required from start to finish of the project. Using the latest Trimble GPS Receivers and field computers to log co-ordinates of geographical point items, our field computer software can quickly record data associated with a field point item. Returning to our office, we can produce CAD drawings, which can be then further overlaid onto an OS tile or topographical survey depending on your own requirements. The collected data can also be incorporated into a populated database or spreadsheet for your benefit.

Our equipment uses ‘VRS Now’ technology, which means the 3D GPS co-ordinates of every single captured point are corrected against reference stations across the UK. This networked correction process occurs in real time, meaning sub centimetre coordinate accuracy is achieved as soon as the point item is recorded on our field computers, resulting in an efficient and highly accurate GPS survey.

We can also carry out GPS surveys in locations where there are areas of poor GPS signal e.g. where there is tree cover, bridge or building cover. We set up our Trimble Total Station equipment in the area of poor GPS signal, and carry out the ‘Resection’ process, which enables us to then capture the coordinates for the point items in this area, with no loss of accuracy.

Past GPS surveys range from Highways drainage schemes and construction site surveys, to underground utility surveys.
